To provide clinicians with the latest scientific data on diabetic retinopathy as well as practical strategies for its prevention, detection and treatment.
TARGET AUDIENCE
This activity is designed for primary care physicians, endocrinologists, diabetes educators and all clinicians involved in the care of patients with diabetes. There are no prerequisites.

- Describe the diagnosis, classification and manifestations of diabetic retinopathy (DR) in general and diabetic macular edema (DME) in particular
- Evaluate currently available and developing therapies for DR
- Establish the role of the diabetes specialist in the prevention, detection and treatment of DR, both through direct patient contact and through interaction with other healthcare providers
